The ship, Kadıköy to Beşiktaş, Istanbul

アジア側のカドゥキョイからベシクタシュへ。ボスポラス海峡を渡る定期船は20分をかけて対岸へと人を渡す。滞在中に何度も行き来したアジア側とヨーロッパ側。この路線に乗るのは今回が初めてだった。

すると、船の中に見知らぬドアが。これまで乗った船にはなかったものだ。開けてみると、小さなカフェテリアだった。チャイを飲む人。新聞を読む人。パンをかじる人。そうか、少し長い時間をかけて渡る船の中では、こうやってお茶やランチを済ませるんだと気がついた。私もチャイを買って知らぬ女性の前に座ってみる。

10分を過ぎた頃だろうか。ずっと外を眺めていた女性が急に私のほうを向いて「You can see dolphins!」と言った。ボスポラス海峡に住むイルカ。言わなければ気がつかなかった。ありがとう。

船で対岸へ渡る日常。そんな日々が、ここにはある。少しだけ、この街に住んでいる気になった。幸福な錯覚は私をどこへ連れて行ってくれるのだろうか、と考えた。

The ship will go to Beşiktaş from Kadıköy at Asian side. Everyday, people cross to the other side by boat.  There are those days like that. I  feel like I'm living in this town a little bit.  I wonder where such happy illusion takes me.

Girls, Ortakoy, Istanbul

今回滞在したイスタンブールの小さな港町・オルタキョイは、地元の人たちの憩いの場所のようで、のんびり散策したりデートしたりしている地元っ子が多かった。ある日の午後、こんなかわいらしい姉妹も。

I stayed in Ortaköy , the small port city of Istanbul this time. Here is the recreation area of the locals, and they are dating or stroll leisurely.  One afternoon, I saw pretty sisters in here.

いつの時代も女の子たちは仲良し。3人組の女の子たちって、なぜか絵になると思う。トルコのアンタルヤという街の旧市街・カレイチにて。

Girls are good friend all the time. I think girls threesome are picturesque. In old town "Kaleiçi" Antalya, Turkey.

Night butterfly, Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo

ETROが蜷川実花とコラボレーションしたカプセルコレクション“Eden”の発表ラウンジパーティ@青山IDOL。このところ不景気、不景気ということでこういう派手なパーティーはだいぶ少なくなってたのだけれど、久しぶりに“TOKYO的華やかさ”のあるパーティーに出かけた気がした。女性DJが黙々とラウンジに音を放つ。気分が高揚する。都会の片隅のうたかた。

I attended at announcement lounge party @ Aoyama IDOL of capsule collection "Eden" that ETRO performed collaboration of with Mika Ninagawa. I felt like having gone to the party with "the activeness of TOKYO" after a long absence. DJ emits a sound silently in a lounge. A feeling becomes exalted. The ephemeral thing of the urban corner.

Haneda -Tokyo International Airport, 1974, Tokyo

「日本に来たのは1974年2月。羽田で飛行機を降りたとき、雪が降っていました」。父親の仕事の都合で、マダガスカルから一家で東京にやってきたロズリンさん。少女の目に、初めて見る雪はどう映っただろうか。それから40年。彼女は東京に暮らすことを選んで、ここにいる。「父は残念ながら亡くなってしまったけれど、ママが元気で暮らしているから、ぜひマダガスカルに遊びに行ってください」。たまたまのご縁。いつかきっと、叶いそうな気がした。

"I came to Japan in February 1974. When I got off the plane at Haneda, the snow was falling." Roseline came to Tokyo from Madagascar with the family on account of the work of his father. How would she has felt the first snow? 40 years has passed from that. She chose to live in Tokyo. "My father passed away, but mom is living in good spirits. Please go to Madagascar sometime by all means". This is the chance of fate, I feel that seems to come true someday.

Six roses, Ginza, Tokyo

「薔薇5本で525円」。そういう看板を見て、たまには自分のために花を買うのもいいんじゃないかと思った。白い花弁の先がほんのり紅色になった薔薇を選んでもらう。「1本、おまけしておきました」。私の手元には6本の薔薇が手渡された。ありがとう、ミカコさん。あなたのその優しさは今、私の部屋で美しく可憐に花開いている。

"Roses are 525yen in five." Seeing that sign, I thought of buying flowers for myself. I choose the pretty white roses that petal tip becomes slightly pink. "One of them is a bonus." Six roses were handed in her hand. Thank you, Mikako.Now, your kindness has blossomed beautifully in my room.

Cheer dancer, Ebisu, Tokyo

カナノさんはチアダンスの専門家。もともとは競技者で、現在は大会運営や後進の指導に当たっている。ふらりと東京都写真美術館に出かけてあたりの写真を撮っていたら、とても凜としたたたずまいの女性が通りかかったので、美しいな、と思い、声をかけて写真を撮らせていただいた。この後、ずいぶん長い間立ち話をして、近々の再会を約束して連絡先を交換した。

こんな出会いもあるから、人生っておもしろい。

Kanano is an expert of cheer dance（Pom Dance). She was a contestant in the past, but now, she coaches junior and manages the tournament. When I was taking pictures around the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, a very pleasant woman was passing by. I think she is beautiful, so took a picture. We stood talking for such a long time. We promised to meet again in the near future.

Life is very interesting for me.
